After the strong innings of Gultoo at the Box Office, Kannada cinema can finally take a sigh of relief as actor Sharan’s Raambo 2 comes as a savior. With all the favorable reviews from the critics and audience, Raambo 2 managed to open on a very positive note collecting approximately 1 Crore all over Karnataka leaving behind the other two small releases Saddu and Parthasarathy.
Surely, Raambo 2 is an up market film with an amazing star cast (Apart from Sharan) supporting the film. What really worked in the case of the movie was obviously Sharan and his different approach with the script this time and last but not the least, entertainment value. Going by the public response, Raambo 2 will continue to see the same success for at least next 5 to 6 weeks.
Talking about Saddu, a supernatural environment friendly thriller (As claimed by few), audience has literally rejected the film. The cinemas where the film is playing also has a very poor response and might change the film. The over-all first day collection was approximately 2 to 3 Lakhs all over which not even covered the Publicity Expense of the film.
What went against the film Saddu according to us was such kind of subjects are already been tried earlier and it needed some face value.
New face Renuk Kumar (RK) starrer police drama Parthasarathy also failed miserably to bring audience into the cinema halls. Of course such strong subject with the strong protagonist needs a big name for sure. RK looked confident in whatever he did, but i suppose he chose a wrong theme for his debut. This Singham type character we have already witnessed Sudeep doing it with excellence!
The over-all first day audience reaction for Parthasarathy was disappointing and the film could barely make 3 to 5 lakhs where ever it opened.
The ratings of Saddu and Parthasarathy on Ticket Booking websites and Social Media shows high! Kindly don’t refer that because it can be done by PR Machinery. Instead of rigging Votes and Ratings, better concentrate on making a good product. (My personal view).
